renovation of two highway bridges

Renovation of two bridges crossing the A6 highway at the entrance of Luxembourg-city. The project consists of a structural and acoustic enhancement of the infrastructure, located in an increasingly dense area.

The design is conceived as an artificial reinterpretation of the vegetation stripes surrounding the highway. Fragment images of the trees bordering the infrastructure have been compiled and computed to generate the aluminium panels geometries of the upper deck. Those integrate both absorbing and reflective elements. The holes density has been parametrically adapted to meet the absorption needs. On the highway level, absorption is provided by large wood fibre concrete panels.

This project has been designed by Kaell architecte prior études F foundation, when Romain Fassotte was still part of KA team.
